Forest Storyboard & Environment

Here is the storyboard for part of the commercial, which will include a forest which will be a made-up horror game for the commercial and the basic idea of how I want the scene to play out, which is that some friends will be on a camping trip and having a conversation around a campfire then go back to their tents to sleep. One of them wakes up to notice the other one is missing.

Potentially the part where they wake up, they could see some blood after looking around for their friend, and this blood could be a trail that they decide also to follow; the parts before they start walking could be seen as cut scenes and when they start walking is where the gameplay starts if this was a real game.

Forest Environment

Here is the forest that I have created; this section of it is where the campsite is, and I changed the setting to night as this is the time of day in which I want this part to take place. Because of this, the fire can act as lighting for this scene; however, the lighting from just the fire VFX wasn’t enough, so I added a point where the fire is to add more lighting.

Only the first part of this scene will take place at night and will take place during the day instead, and I will be able to change this by using the sequencer to adjust the skybox and lighting of the sky to make it daytime when I need to be.

Also, here is what the forest will look like during the day. I want the scene to appear very foggy that’s why I made the fog effect, as mentioned earlier, as this will make the scene more horror game-like and make the environment feel more like a horror game. I have included dead trees in this area as deeper as they walk in the forest, it will get more creepy, and at the end, they will find a tree with a hanging skeleton which will scare the character walking around this forest.
