Idea Generation For Spring Up App (EX2)
What Will the App Do?
The app’s purpose is to help motivate undergraduate students with various tasks, so I want it to help them get on with their work, mainly time management related but also to encourage them to take breaks frequently and in general, have a good work-life balance.
App Features
Allow Users to set their own targets (Assignments and deadlines)
It reminds a user when it’s close to one of their assignments being due. (Notifications)
Reward the user when they complete a task that they have set for themselves, and this could be done by that the app could have a scoring system and depending on how many tasks they complete it goes up. Or it could allow them to play a quick game to allow them to destress after completing their work.
Random Motivational quotes will appear when they open the app
Allow Users to create mind maps so they can plan out their work easily
Reminds Users to take breaks frequently (Every couple of hours and tell them to take a day off on the weekends)
Give Users goals to accomplish such as trying to work for a couple of hours
Calendar – Allowing Users to see when everything is due and plan things.
Target Audience
This app will be designed to appeal to undergraduate students. However, this can have a wide age range because people of many ages decide to go into higher education. When creating my app, I will try to make it appealing to a wide range of age groups so anyone can feel like they can use the app.
How this App will tie into the Spring Theme
My app has to tie into a spring theme, and people could interpret this in many different ways however, one of the most common ways people see spring is the season itself, and this is the direction I am going to take my app. So, the design of my app will include spring elements such as flowers blooming, cherry blossoms etc. These could be included in a part of the background of the app, the logo itself and various icons the app could have.
