Final Concept For My Piece & The Finished Video
The concept I initially came up with hasn’t changed; however, when developing it, I made some changes to it, such as not just being a general commercial for the console itself. I decided it should focus on one game which is the horror game concept that I came up with earlier, and the reason for this change is that I wanted the commercial to be more focused on one thing instead of multiple things all at once.
And would allow me to complete it in the time that I had on this project since I wouldn’t have to make more than 2 environments for this project and find all of the assets for them as well. Also, the reason why the video is in a letterbox which is where you take 16:9 content which is what modern displays use into a 4:3 aspect ratio but preserves all of the content from the original version. This gives it more of a retro look, as most TVs in the ’90s were 4:3, which adds to what I am trying to do with my piece, which is a retro commercial.
The reason I did this way is that cine cameras don’t seem to allow you to make it in a 4:3 aspect ratio, so I had to make them in 16:9. Still, when rendering the video in the sequencer, it allows you to put it into 4:3 resulting in the letterboxing. I upscaled it to 1080p when rendering the finished version in video editing software, and down below is the finished video itself.
