One Point Perspective Drawings
What are One Point Perspective Drawings? And other types of perspectives
One point perspective is where a drawing will show how things will look as they get further away from your view so as objects get further away from you, they will appear smaller as a result. For example, I could draw a hallway and show long that hallway is by using a one-point perspective.
I will be mainly focusing on one-point perspective drawings however I am going to discuss the two other types of perspectives that can be used in drawings so firstly I will be discussing 3 point perspective and this type of perspective is mainly used for buildings so you can show them from being seen from above or below so this would be useful if I wanted to show a cityscape from above as normally with one-point perspective this wouldn’t be possible.
Now the last perspective I am going to talk about is the two-point perspective and this is where you will be able to see two vanishing points in that drawing and this type of perspective is commonly used for drawing interior designs and architectural drawings.
One Point Perspective Drawing that I Created

Next, I am going to discuss this one-point perspective drawing that I made and since this was my first time doing this type of drawing, I decided to go with something simple to draw and that was a hallway inside a school as you can see with the lockers on the sides of the walls.
Also, another reason I decided to go with a hallway as it is very easy to show how the details in the drawing get smaller further away it is in the drawing and this is exactly how a long hallway would look in real life so for example you can see how the tiles on the floor get smaller as it gets further away and this goes for anything in this drawing.
However, there are some things that I could improve about this drawing if I were to attempt to redo this drawing such as there isn’t any shading or colour in this drawing, and I could do this to add more depth to this drawing to make it seem more realistic such as adding reflections in the floor or shading on the lockers to give them more depth.
Another thing I could improve about this drawing is that a lot of the lines that connect things together in the drawing such as the lockers aren’t straight as some of the lines look curvy by making them more straight would make it look more professional instead of just being a rough sketch.
